Weight Loss

Fad diets and "exercise in a bottle" are really only distractions. They are things which will only set us up for disappointment.

Have you ever noticed how those "magic pills" always state somewhere in the disclaimer that it will work only in conjunction with a healthy eating plan and regular exercise? So what are the pills for then? Don't let the models in the advertisements fool you-they all go to the gym! The problem with these supplements is also that they may have adverse side effects on you. If you really think it is essential to take a dietary supplement, speak to your GP about it first.

If I could give a tip on weight loss, it would be to go the natural way. Fruit and vegetables aren't as bad as they were when you were a fussy little kid! And water - just drink it! You should drink an average of 2 litres a day, regardless of any weight loss plans. Include vegetables in all your meals, and snack on fruits. You'll be surprised how your cravings for chocolates and other sweets things will start to diminish.

Whether losing weight is a new venture for you, or you are simply trying to lose that last kilogram or centimetre of your waist to fit into those pants again, you will be faced with a challenge every day. It may be a temptation or it may be an unexpected cold. But these challenges are usually not as bad as we think.

Motivation is hard to come by. Unfortunately I cannot argue. It is difficult to struggle through every little bite, every small step and every sip of water, but it's as bad as you think. You need to find your own goal and dedicate yourself to it. If you really want to lose weight , this won't be too difficult, no matter the reason-be it for your health or to drop a dress size. Try and remember that there is a reason you are doing this and it is one which you have decided on. You may get sidetracked, but don't let that put you off entirely. Instead, set your goal, work towards it and when you get there you are the one who will be smiling!

Lose 10 Pounds Fast - Is Two Weeks Fast Enough?

Earlier, I often found myself in an awkward position. There was a big event coming up like a wedding or a reunion and I always needed to lose some weight to look as good as I wanted to. I went on those very low calorie diets and felt like crap but most often I lost a few pounds. A couple of weeks later I always gained the pounds again and sometime even more pounds than I lost during the diet.

This fact makes dieting boring. We go through fire to lose a few pounds and then we get them right back and often they bring a few friends. I figured that there had to be a better way and started looking for other diets. First I tried weightwatchers and found that this seems to be a great program but it is far too slow and too expensive for me. I think this program is great at keeping your weight but if you want that fast weight loss it won't work.

I friend of mine told me about a program called Fat Loss 4 Idiots. The name is really stupid so I stopped listening to here after that point. A couple of weeks later I stumbled on a diet called calorie shifting and read all I could find about it. Finally I a found a program that used this approach and you know, it's called Fat Loss 4 Idiots.

The thing I like most about calorie shifting is its simplicity. You tell a generator what you like to eat and then it spits out a full 11-day menu. You follow this menu, eat until almost full and you lose weight. It actually is as simple as that.

Now, we are not talking about slow weight loss but an extremely fast weight loss. At one point I had to stop dieting because I lost more than 1 pound per day. Let me tell you, I have never ever had to stop a diet prematurely before.

Израильский застройщик предсказал бум после кризиса

Председатель крупной израильской строительной компании Hanan Mor Group Holdings Ltd. Ханан Мор полагает, что финансовый кризис вскоре подойдет к концу, а за ним последует бум рынка недвижимости Израиля.

«Сейчас на рынке недвижимости Израиля царит общее состояние паники, что, естественно, сказывается и на покупателях жилья. Однако, если бы меня попросили дать совет человеку, который хочет купить новую квартиру, я бы порекомендовал ему или ей сделать это в течение ближайшего полугода, потому что потом на рынке недвижимости случится крупнейший бум за всю его историю и цены вырастут до исторического максимума», - сказал Мор в интервью изданию Globes Online.

Также специалист заявил, что «многие люди ничего не смыслят в экономических показателях и не понимают, что Израиль находится на грани катастрофы с предложением новых квартир. Кризис привел в действие силы, которые сокращают объемы предложения, а банки ограничивают выдачу кредитов подрядчикам. Через год в стране начнется трехлетка стабильного роста».

Hoodia - Seen a Fat San Bushman lately?

The Hoodia Gordonii plant has been used by the San Bushmen of the Kalahari desert long before Europeans came into contact with it. It was invaluable to them to ward off hunger during their lengthy nomadic trips through the desert. They also used it medically for a number of other issues such as abdominal cramps, indigestion, hemorrhoids and tuberculosis.

The plant is a succulent that grows in the high deserts of the Kalahari Desert region of South Africa. It has appeared on the weight management scene only recently (since early 2004) in the west, but has been used for millennia by the San people of the Kalahari a tribe of hunter-gatherers to help ward off pain, hunger and thirst when the Bushmen made long trips in the desert

Hoodia has an appetite-suppressing component P57, which pharmaceutical companies are trying to synthesise so that they can patent it, but, until that happens, this plant is the only source. Hoodia gordonii is not a stimulant, and has no known side effects

Research carried out at Brown University in Rhode Island recently suggests that the steroidal glycosides in hoodia affect nerve cells in the hypothalamus that monitor blood glucose. It appears that the effect of this is that the brain thinks that the body has sufficient blood sugar and doesn't need to eat more and shuts down the hunger mechanism.

The first human clinical trial was reputedly conducted by Phytopharm in which a group of morbidly obese men and women was placed in a place as close to prison as it gets. All they could do was read, watch television -- and eat. Half the group were given Hoodia and half were given a placebo. At the end of 15 days, the group on Hoodia had reduced their food intake by 1000 calories a day( compared with the average daily diet of around 2200 calories)

More recently, in two double-blind studies lean and obese laboratory rats were given Hoodia, which brought about major weight loss in the obese rats and moderate appetite suppression and weight loss in the lean rats. Hoodia also induced a modest drop in the rats' blood sugar levels, and no adverse side effects were reported.

There are no negative side effects reported for the use of this herb. A major claim made for Hoodia is that it does not produce the same unpleasant side effects as other appetite suppressants.

Cutting 101

In my opinion, there is a particular 'cascade' you should follow when trying to cut, I will give a quick outline of my thoughts in this thread and allow people to make their own decisions with new found info.

First off, DIET! Diet is 95% of cutting, you should have a good diet in place and use it faithfully. Allow all excess body fat to be used while on a good diet, (yes this takes time!). A good diet, usually consists of complex carbohydrates, a good protein intake, and a healthy fats intake. Examples of such:

Complex Carbs: Oatmeal, whole wheat foods, fiberous veggies (not a true form), brown rice, and other low glycemic index carbs.

Good Proteins: Poultry, fish, bovine, dairy products, powders

Healthy fats: Nuts, Olive oil, Avacados, MCTs, some dairy products, etc.

Now, find your maintenance caloric intake, which is usually your body weight multiplied by 15. Take this, and subtract 500 calories from it, you have now formed a defecit. Eat at this caloric defecit for the duration, do not cut carbs, do not decrease fats, do not do any modern bullshit diet!!! Instead try to eat at a 33/33/33 ratio, meaning 33% of your caloric intake is from protein, 33% from carbs, and 33% from fats. Some people prefer a 40/40/20, others a 45/30/25, and the variables continue on.

You will realize that soon after eating at a caloric defecit, weight will drop, without supplementation, without increased exercise and cardio!!! Miraculous eh?

You will come to a point where the weight won't decrease naturally anymore, this is where you increase the intensity of your workouts, and (still not doing cardio folks) Once again, your body will quickly adapt and learn to stay at a set weight despite the increased intensity, this is where....

Cardio finally makes a slight appearance. Adding in cardio 2-3 times per week post workout will give you that extra edge in the fight vs fat! Once your body has adapted again, you will move on to....

Supplementation! There are soo many options here, and I won't even begin to voice my opinion on this just yet...

In the end, you can expect to cover a 6 month timeframe EASILY, and also quite possibly a 15-20 pound drop in body fat if done correctly. This is how to 'cut' while sparing muscle, and doing so naturally. If you are not able to discipline yourself enough to do something this easy, then why do you think you're ready to jump into supps and anabolics right away?? eh?? lol

SO, in review, DIET ---> Intensity ---> Cardio ---> Supplementation ---> Skinny
